Where should a single twenty-five year old move within Charleston?

I'm a twenty five year old female moving from Michigan to Charleston within the next six month. I have no idea where to begin to look for an apartment. Does anyone have suggestions for me? Preferably, somewhere not terribly expensive and an area more populated by younger people. I'm eager to live in a larger city and excited to start meeting new people. I'm moving to Charleston b/c my little sister got a teaching job there starting this fall.

  1. I think with the price of gas, everything depends upon the specific location of your job within the Charleston area. The closer to work, the better. Without getting too wordy and specific, areas that are ok would be Charleston proper (expensive), James Island, Mt. Pleasant, Johns Island, Goose Creek, and Summerville. Avoid North Charleston. 2. Why move there, so far away? Move somewhere closer to home, in case it doesn't work out?
