How do I make career transition from retail banking/finance to financial analyst.....?

I have 7 years retail banking experience but want to continue in finance but NOT in sales. I want a job as a financial or budget analyst what the hell would I need to do to get one? I do have a 6/63 but I want out of sales.

1. Getting an MBA with a concentration in finance is generally the way to go. There are usually a variety of good MBA programs out there, many with part time, evening, or weekend schedules so that people can go to school and work at the same time. In addition, you may be eligible for your employer covering part of your tuition, if your employer believes this is a good career avenue for you.
